What is a triage system?
Clinical triage helps us to prioritise patients with the most urgent health needs and ensures that you get to see the most appropriate clinician or are signposted to alternative services.
Using a Triage system can:
- Help us to improve access our services and direct you to the right practitioner/service (urgent care/ED services).
- Help us to improve patient care by ensuring that patients with the highest or most complex health needs are prioritised and given longer appointments (if needed).
- Help us to free up GP time to deal with more complex issues.
- Help us to reduce our GP’s workload and pressure by distributing and delegating tasks across the practice team.
